In fact, I can't wait to share about what happened in Las Vegas over March 8-11! Not only did I get to watch (in fear!) as my dear husband, Bruce, did the infamous Stratosphere,
but I was also honored with the ICCFA 2010 KIP Award!
The International Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Association recognizes only the best in personalized products in the cemetery, funeral service and cremation professions- hence the Keeping It Personal (KIP)- title. And, in 2010, the judges all agreed- Love Ashes was THE most innovative company offering perfectly personalized products.
Seriously, I feel like I have been on fire since the Las Vegas convention! There is nothing more rewarding than to know that others believe my work is truly award-worthy!
So I think you will agree- what happens in Vegas...deserves to be shared!

A New Way to Memorialize
Several years ago I lost my beloved dog, Kiki. And while it may sound silly to some, I am one of those people who considers their dog as a member of the family. So when we lost her, I was devastated. She had been such a big part of our family for so long, that it seemed only fitting to create a memorial of some sort in her honor. So we began searching for the perfect memorial for Kiki- which turned out to be an adventure.
A backyard headstone was too expensive, a decorative urn was too impersonal and an engraved dog bowl just wouldn't do the trick. So we framed photos of her, talked about her and even drew pictures of her (well, the kids did- I draw stick figures). But nothing seemed to offer a sense of closure.
And then I had an idea. As a jewelry designer and artist, why not add Kiki's ashes to a dichroic glass pendant? And since each pendant would only require a small amount of her ashes, I could create one for each of the kids as well- so that they could remember Kiki for years to come.
After a little research and a lot of experimentation, I taught myself how to infuse cremated ashes into my beautiful glass jewelry. The short-term result? A beautiful memorial in honor of my sweet little Kiki.

But the long-term result has been far more rewarding. Since creating Kiki's memorial I have had the honor of having been selected to work with countless individuals and families to create stunning memorials for loved ones through my company, Love Ashes.
